    DNS Management Philosophy

    DNS changes should be controlled, documented, and validated carefully due to their impact on production services.

    Common DNS Requests

    • New subdomain creation
    • MX record updates
    • Cloudflare configuration
    • Reverse proxy routing updates
    • Service migrations
    • TLS validation support

    Pre-Change Requirements

    • Verify registrar ownership
    • Confirm DNS provider access
    • Validate target infrastructure
    • Confirm service destination ports
    • Review rollback capability

    Operational Standards

    • DNS changes should be documented
    • Temporary routing should not become permanent architecture
    • Production cutovers should be validated externally
    • Cloudflare proxy behavior should be verified carefully

    Post-Change Validation

    • Verify DNS propagation
    • Validate HTTPS functionality
    • Confirm reverse proxy routing
    • Validate external accessibility
